COLOR OF THE WEEK - GEORGETOWN PINK BEIGE

pink - there's so much to say about the color pink. it's a color i love to work with, whether on the ceiling, walls, upholstered pieces, you name it! one of the lovely shades i've worked with before is georgetown pink beige.
georgetown pink beige, by benjamin moore, is a lush mid-tone pink with a warm glow. it's part of benjamin moore's historic color collection. it's delicate, yet bright. it's saturated just enough - it doesn't overwhelm the eye if an entire room is drenched in it. it can create a playful or serious, more mature space.
soft pink color psychology reveals it as a soothing, nurturing, and calming color often associated with romance and love. a perfect discussion on valentine's day. pink reduces anger and anxiety. studies have shown that exposing people to specific shades of pink, such as in prison cells, can reduce aggressive and hostile behavior. it promotes feelings of peace. pink is a color that symbolizes hope and optimism. traditionally, in western countries, pink has been associated with femininity. it has a playfulness to it. the color pink promotes creativity, it helps you focus. fun fact, my geometry teacher in high school painted her math room in pink for this exact reason!
georgetown pink beige works in all sorts of spaces - from spaces that see a lot of natural light to spaces that see zero natural light. it brings a glow to the room. soft pinks in general are one of my favorite colors to paint a ceiling! a little trick i've learned and use quite often. just like people look best in pink light, painting a ceiling pink gives a room a pinkish glow which people look good in! on the ceiling, the pink becomes almost a neutral color as it more works to create more of a vibe than contribute to the color palette.

georgetown pink beige pairs well with just about anything. whether that be warm woods (darker walnuts to lighter oaks), black accents, or white accents. it's the chameleon of colors, in that it works well with just about anything! i love pairing a soft pink, like georgetown pink beige, with a good red - either a warm or cool red. i also love pairing it with a lot of neutrals! in regards to metals, it works well with gold and silver tones alike.

as always, i highly recommend sampling your paint colors before applying them to the entire room. i order peel and stick samples from samplize. samples range $6.95 - $9.95 depending on the brand of paint and size of the sample. this may seem high, but it beats purchasing actual cans of paint and a paint brush. samples are usually delivered the following day. this business concept was such a brilliant idea - it's a life saver when you want to sample a lot of colors!!
i hope you enjoyed this radiant pink color on this special day. happy valentine's day to everyone!!
