when looking for a subtle cool green color in your paint - try titanium by benjamin moore. i get asked about this color quite often because of the the room shown above and below. this soft color really creates a calm vibe. it slows you down and begs you to exhale! a breath of fresh air! cool greens in general are associated with nature and promote relaxation. The color reduces stress and is healing. which is exactly what the color titanium does.

this color works well in a space that sees some to a lot of natural light. it's a great color to add contrast to. dark, warm woods pair well with it. it's such an earthy tone that i feel works best with other earthy cool tones and colors. think blues, especially cool blues.

the color titanium would easily be overpowered by pairing it with strong vibrant colors. i wouldn't pair it with a strong yellow or ochre, for example. the color would be completely washed out. it's a soft, delicate color that needs to be used carefully. i wouldn't pair it with greys either - again, it would be washed out.

see how we worked with the color titanium in this brooklyn townhome bedroom below:

the color contrasts lovely with deep, warm wood tones! (design by crystal sinclair designs | photo by tim lenz)

again, i highly recommend sampling your paint colors before applying them to the entire room. i order peel and stick samples from samplize. samples range $6.95 - $9.95 depending on the brand of paint and size of the sample. this may seem high, but it beats purchasing actual cans of paint and a paint brush. samples are usually delivered the following day. this business concept was such a brilliant idea - it's a life saver when you want to sample a lot of colors!!

hope you enjoyed this weeks calming, refreshing color!! please subscribe for more color fun!!
